Bet none of them have a heat pump, EV or sloar panels. In fact most of them look like they aren't yet old enough to pay the bills!

All paid for

There is a reason the reporter was arrested and detained today.

Massive scam that even the protestors themselves (not their leaders) are not aware of yet.

Hose em down with ice cold water and then leave them to it - by about 3am they'll be begging to come down.

Think of all the EXTRA energy this government is going to have to use to now process these twats through the legal system that they seem to think is only for others to follow.

Cold, damp cells for them with only a picture of a candle for warmth.

You's have to go back to an era were virtually every "modern" product was made of, or in part of, Bakelite.

That shit that comes out of the ground has played no small part in the earth's population bloom.

Aren't loads of these hydrocarbons used in medical equipment, solvents, chemical processes etc etc blah blah blah

Where we getting the replacements for all that stuff from?

The only groups which benefit from us stopping our own extraction efforts are those that supply the product to us.

Mike Oxsaw 12:37 Wed Oct 19
Re: QEII Bridge Protesters
You could take that concept even further - give them a whole village (one nobody really wants any more), take it off-grid for ALL infrastructure and tell them to get on with it.

Border controls at all entry/exit points to make sure that they only use what they produce themselves.

Minimum 200% tax on anything they try to import/export to help recover some of the cost of setting up their own little fiefdom.

Re: QEII Bridge Protesters
I get the right to protest, but when they start effecting other peoples lives with their antics it is an affront. Have the right to free speech but give them a strip of land to protest on, guaranteed news coverage, and apply the law robustly to any criminal activities outside that area.

These people are doing what they are doing primarily because it is fun and they can get away with it.

Re: QEII Bridge Protesters
These protesters are patsies. Make the general public riled up enough to accept draconian protest laws. So that when the shit hits the fan, people's right to voice opinions is diminished

Re: QEII Bridge Protesters
I think the world is already adjusting to the impact of a spike of CO2/Methane release. The problem is that it reacts s-l-o-w-l-y, over decades or even (human) generations.

Not fast enough for these protesters though: they expect stop all fossil fuel use right now and this time next week we'll all be basking in the sort of weather the Victorians enjoyed while they went to the seaside and left (some poor person's) kids to clean their chimneys.
